Armistice Day, Remembrance Day

The Week, 5 Nov 2016

poppy-imageArmistice Day or Remembrance Day has taken place since 1918 on the 11th day of the 11th month. The armistice was signed between Germany & the allies in France (Compeigne) at the 11th hour that day. To commemorate that this year, I simply had to share this extraordinary obituary I read earlier in the week. It helps get any niggles in our lives today straight into perspective. Once you’ve read about what Alistair Urquart went through, you’ll realise we have almost nothing, ever to grumble about. Today we remember those people for whom we have so much to be thankful.
