Apley Cookery Club Sat 9 Jan – Colcannon with pork schnitzel

APLEY RECEIPE CARD January-page-001APLEY RECEIPE CARD January-page-002Join in with the Apley Cookery Club on Saturday 9th January, hosted by Gilly Clayton in our Corn Loft Conference Room 10:30-12:30pm, when she’ll be demonstrating Colcannon with pork schnitzel. I just had to check what colcannon was ! It’s “an Irish and Scottish dish of cabbage and potatoes boiled and mashed together”. On the same lines, a schnitzel is “a thin slice of veal or other light meat [Gilly’s using pork], coated in breadcrumbs and fried”. Here’s the recipe from this month’s Delicious Magazine. Future dates for the Cookery Club are: Sat 6 Feb, Sat 12 March, Sat 16 April, Sat 7 May, Sat 11 June, Sat 2 July. After that, we will revert to holding it on the first Saturday of the month – ie. 6 Aug, 3 Sept, 1 Oct, 5 Nov & 3 Dec.
