2015-04-16, AWG progress 14 2015-04-16, AWG progress 13Apley Walled Garden beginners’ gardening course takes place this Wednesday, 29 April, 10-4pm. Head Gardener Phil Allen is immensely knowledgeable & personable & the gardens are magical all year round, but especially now as we’re really into Spring. The gardens, set in the strictly private Apley Park, pre-date 1775. This is the first time ever we’ve held gardening courses there, so be amongst the privileged first to attend !

Improve your gardening knowledge, working with fruit & vegetables in a unique, historic & private walled garden. The course covers compost types & their benefits, ground preparation, what to grow and what not to, when to sow & why, your harvest timetable, when you can expect to pick your own & growing in small spaces.

The weather looks sunny but cool on Wednesday & if there’s an April shower, you can always just dive into a warm polytunnel or greenhouse !

If you can’t make this one, there are other opportunities on the last Wednesday of every month until October, so the next ones will be held on Wed 27 May, Wed 24 June, Wed 29 July, Wed 26 Aug, Wed 23 Sept & Wed 28 Oct.

Bring a friend or even several & make it all the more fun ! For groups of 10, Phil will tailor the course to your specific areas of interest.

£55 including a 2 course lunch in the Creamery Café (at Apley Farm Shop) & refreshments throughout the day. To book a place, just email marketingassistant@apleyfarmshop.co.uk or call 01952 730 345. Full details on www.apleywalledgarden.co.uk. Private tours are also available.
