Food in Lady Hamilton’s kitchen
I’ve just had a very good meeting with with our General Manager & Marketing Assistant, catching up at the end of half term & to plan our next few events at Apley Farm Shop. Mothers’ Day is next on 15 March, then Easter 5 April, followed by the May bank holiday which promises to be good fun – a food fair in the Farm Shop on Saturday 2 May, our monthly Craft Fair on Sunday 3 May & an Apley Family Fun Day on Monday 4 May.
Whilst there I had lemon & ginger tea to help my cold with Julie’s handmade (on site) chocolate & caramel coated shortbread (my favourite, so of course, no chance of a photo!) which I felt I deserved having just got back from taking our girls to yet another pony competition. I bet the latter did nothing to make my cold better, but is unmissable, if you’re feeling a bit peckish when you arrive in The Creamery Café of Apley Farm Shop !
Back home, I tried a sample bottle of pink Raspberry & Rose Hip cordial – worth a try for being so unusal, but I’ll stick to ginger & elderflower. I’ve finished a whole pot (it took a wee or 2 I promise) of Mike’s Gourmet Lemon & Lavendar marmalade, which I love mixed with my plain yoghurt or on crackers. We’ve also recently had for a weekend lunch the Apley handmade Stilton & leek quiche with Apley Walled Garden kale (we can’t get enough of it in our home – we all love it, very lightly fried). Then Gavin kindly came home with a box of French (sorry, not Shropshire) truffles, which I adore.
I’ll drop in tomorrow to see what’s new in the Shop for next week’s meals….
