In full swing of Spring

Wisteria imageA neighbour has just spotted (secret location) a wild mallard duck nesting in the most bizarre place – open to the elements, on top of a hedge right on the edge of a lane ! Confetti cherry blossom is blowing everywhere & yesterday a blackbird sang so much & so loudly & for so long from the tree in our London garden, that I had to open the door to see what the fuss was all about ! There must have been a predator (cat) nearby ! She was very effective !

Wisteria is in bloom on the front of many houses along our cycle route to & fro Venetia’s school. And I just love the lime green colour of the brand new leaves.

What’s happening on the Skylark Nature Trail at Apley Farm Shop this month ? To do a spot of bird watching, start by looking at http://uk-nature.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/May-birds
