Little Unicorns Nursery

This wonderful nursery opened in Sept 2010 in Apley Estate’s Cotsbrook Farm Buildings, very close to Apley Farm Shop.

Run by teacher Kay & Nursery Nurse Louise, it welcomes up to 36 children every day (aged 3 months to 5 years.

They follow the routine of each child as closely as possible, sending them home with a Home Dairy, so parents know exactly what they’ve done & eaten that day.

Children can sleep in a beautiful bedroom. Telford Super Chefs provide daily meals, whilst the nursery provides fruit & vegetable snacks twice a day.

Kay & Louise have brought their experience from the Dower House School where they both previously worked.

They’re open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, employing 3 trainee nursery nurses.

The children benefit from forest walks very close by, garden play twice a day (equipped with a climbing frame, cars, bikes), specialist teachers of dance, yoga & PE visiting every week, as well as water play, painting, sand & jelly play.

They have dedicated rooms for music & movement, child initiated [free] play & a library, where they prepare the older children for starting school, teaching numbers, sounds, letters, shapes & colours.

Oxford Reading Tree books are stocked & children even the basics of Chinese Mandarin too.

They can be very flexible, taking your child for a short period of time, eg. in the school holidays or even if you’re just visiting the area, staying in one of the Apley Holiday Cottages.

The photo shows them all off for a walk to Higford Mill. Very strict safety precautions are taken at all times.

In the UK school holidays, they run a holiday club for children 3 months to 12 years.
